Interpreting Services

SLIS provides high quality sign language interpreting in all settings.  We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We specialize in providing a wide range of interpreting services to match your specific needs. With SLIS, getting professional interpreters when and where you need them is a simple process.  From small meetings to international conferences, from a two-day training next month to an emergency room visit right now, we can help you.

Since 1994, SLIS has consistently filled over 99% of all interpreting requests. We know that life does not always give you two weeks notice, so even with emergency needs we do not stop working until your assignment is set.

SLIS offers the range of sign language interpreting services: language preferences of ASL, PSE, SEE, Oral, Sign Assisted Oral, and MLS (minimal formal language skills). Over 60 freelancers based in the greater metro Atlanta area are affiliated with SLIS, in addition to many more based throughout the state, the region, and the country.

Training

SLIS can provide training at your setting on sign language-related topics - for example: Deaf Culture and Awareness, Basic Sign Language, Accessibility Issues. We design the training you want based on your specific needs. Experienced Deaf and hearing trainers work as a team to bring the information you need to your staff, community group, class, corporate department, non-profit organization, or state or federal agency.
